Overview
The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments. It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development, supporting children and young people’s positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships.
It’s aimed at learners working in roles that support pupils’ learning in primary, secondary or special schools, as well as colleges.

What will I study on the course?
There are 11 mandatory units in this qualification. (3 of which can be transferred from the level 2 award.)

Work Placement
You will need to be either working or volunteering in a school for the duration of the course for a minimum of 6 hours a weekEntry Requirements
Evidence of a placement or employment in a school.
DBS
You must have at least Level 1 or an equivalent qualification in English, adult literacy or communications and Maths, adult numeracy or application of number. We will assess your English and Maths at the interview and support will be offered if you need it. You must have a good standard of spoken and written English.
How will I be assessed?
Learners will need to be working or on a practical placement for the duration of the course in a learning environment (school or college) as they need to show competence in both skills and knowledge.How will I study?
You will have regular workshops and contact with your assessor via our E portfolio platform You will build up a portfolio of evidence from assignments, reflection and observation by an assessor in your setting. There is no set start date – you can enrol throughout the year and complete the course at your own pace to meet your individual needs. It should take approximately twelve months to complete.Progression.
Learners can progress to either the level 3 award or certificate in supporting teaching and learning.How much does the course cost?
The course costs £1548.75. We have a flexible payment plan available so you can pay in instalments.
